Materials Control Lead (2nd Shift) (Manufacturing)
Essential Functions

Manages the flow of materials for regular production activities to ensure all materials are delivered without any damage and maintain quality control throughout the supply chain.
Collaborates and oversees issues with GM leadership to resolve material overages, shortages, and damages, ensuring accurate material balances.
Manages and resolves material-related issues promptly and efficiently, including emergency pick and shipping processes.
Manage and control critical parts that require immediate attention to prevent line downtime using the customer's WMS (Warehouse Management System).
Manages Special shipment requests to other GM facilities utilizing GEPICS to ensure on time delivery of JIT material (Just-in-Time).
Manages Special Purchase Order (SPO) spreadsheet with relevant information, Customer Complaint Analysis (CCA) requests for material needs, pilot and pre-production phases.
Supervises the validation of door access and railcar numbers for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Oversees all communication to train master for escalation.
Supervise and enforce standard operating procedures for dock operations with inbound drivers up to requesting a ban for unsafe practices.
Controls the early warning system based on minimum/maximum inventory levels and a 5-alarm process.
Utilize various systems to manage inbound and outbound of containers to suppliers. (generating picklists, printing and managing manifests, processing of finished manifests, tally sheets, and rail tally sheets).
Supervises the electronic dock board with the latest dock status and escalates as needed.
Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production needs.
Investigating and solving customers problems, which may be complex or long-standing problems.
Handling customer complaints or any major incidents.
Perform special projects, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
This position will cross-train with our Customer Liaison team for optimal customer coverage.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job is performed in the customer facility, a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in materials control or a similar role.
Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics processes.
Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
