Advanced Data Engineer
Location:
Job location –Rosemont, IL- Hybrid position-some telecommuting flexibility, but a requirement to physically be in the Rosemont, IL office occasionally/as needed.
Responsibilities:
Design, development, and maintain Data Solutions following the best practices and coding standards.
Building out data pipelines including collecting and transformation of the data for Analytics.
Build processes supporting data transformations, data structures, metadata, and workload management.
Plans and executes unit test to ensure the developed code is free of functional defects.
Complete Design and Development of a small to medium sized task independently.
Ensure data governance policies are followed by implementing and validating data Lineage, quality checks, classification etc.
Support/enhance/create Daily/Monthly ETL/ELT processes to ensure business continuity, ensuring all related data pipelines meets best‐in‐class standards offering high Performance.
Work in other areas of Data Enablement lifecycle, including batch and real time processes using SQL Server, SSIS ETL/ETL, as needed.
Analyze the requirements and prepare technical specifications.
Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical Data Models for all data solutions.
Support and maintain existing data warehouse for Operational and analytical applications.
Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer Specific business questions.
Identify bottlenecks in existing processes and recommend solutions for improvement.
Serves as resource to internal and third party team members on escalated issues and analyzing and designing specifications for less experienced team members.
Pursues self‐development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information, and knowledge with coworkers and customers; and seeks opportunities to deliver continuous process improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field plus 5 years of relevant experience. As an equivalent alternative, employer will also accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative field plus 3 years of relevant experience.
The position also requires:
3 years of experience in Data Engineering ‐ designing, data modeling, data processing, and data integration.
3 years of experience in designing and building complete ETL pipelines moving and transforming data for ODS, Staging, Data Warehousing and Data Mart using Microsoft SSIS.
2 years of experience with medium‐scale data and t-sql query optimization techniques.
Experience with Data Warehouse concepts including 3NF and Dimensional data models.
Experience with establishing standards and best practices for SQL server database and SSIS ETL development.
Experience with the tools like SQL profiler to debug and diagnose issues in any type of database environment is required.
3 years of experience in processing structured and semi - structured files using Microsoft SSIS and SQL.
2 years of Experience with source control repository system such as TFS.
