Energy Analyst (Engineering)
Manipulate large volumes of utility data and facility trend data in Excel and/or specialized software without corrupting it.
Organize customer facility portfolio and bill data into Project Setup Forms.
Creating utility tracking databases in specialized software.
Weather regression of utility data in specialized software.
Execute quality control procedures for utility database projects.
Run utility tracking reports.
Benchmark facility energy use data.
Utility rate schedule analysis.
Document utility analysis results in customer reports.
Market research and data collection for new technologies, equipment costs, install cost estimates, etc.
View, interpret, and tabulate information from facility mechanical and electrical drawings such as lighting fixture counts, mechanical equipment ratings/locations, piping diagrams, etc.
Energy Audit and Retro-commissioning Report Writing.
Energy and water calculations of system consumption and savings.
Run simple quality control checks on energy reports and calculations such as spell check, formatting, etc.
Occasionally, when available to travel, the Energy Analyst provides on-site support to Field Engineers. In such cases, the Energy Analyst works under the direct supervision of the Field Engineer or Project Manager. Field support activities include:
Lighting and water fixture inventories.
Assist with deployment of diagnostic equipment such as wireless transmitters, data loggers, flow meters, etc.
Energy using equipment nameplate documentation.
Interviewing occupants.
Photo documenting equipment condition and location.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills, and Experience):
Meeting only these qualifications will make you eligible for a starting salary at the low end of the posted range:
Associate's degree (A.A.) in a business, accounting, economics, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline or equivalent; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; OR Be in progress of completing a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or higher from a four-year college or university in a business, accounting, economics, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline.
Mastery of the English language - written and spoken.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Additional Valuable Qualifications:
Meeting these qualifications may make you eligible for a starting salary above the minimum of the posted range:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other four-year STEM degree.
Experience with consumer side energy analysis (energy efficiency, renewable technology, HVAC analysis, building load analysis, etc.). Knowledge from directly related coursework will be considered.
Travel:
The Energy Analyst is not expected to travel regularly outside of a "commute" radius. Occasional out of town travel may be required.
