ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW) was commissioned by the Florida legislature through Senate Bill 330 "to support an adequate, highly skilled, resilient, and innovative workforce that meets the current and future human resources needs of the state?s behavioral health system in order to provide high-quality care, services, and supports to Floridians with, or at risk of developing, behavioral health conditions through original research, policy analysis, evaluation, and development and dissemination of best practices." The FCBHW is proudly housed at University of South Florida in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications and Marketing Manager for the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW) is responsible for advancing the Center's top strategic priorities through the development, management, and execution of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations plan for the Center. This is a professional communicator role requiring training and experience in oral and written communication across a wide range of mediums and audiences, as well as other multimedia content creation. This position will serve as the Center's primary point of contact for College and University Communications and Marketing, as well as the broader media. The Manager also assists with the coordination of special events.
While the primary function of this job class is as a professional individual contributor providing specialized expertise in marketing, communications, and public relations, the Manager will have project management functions and may supervise the activities of other communications administrative personnel.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies. Mastery of Microsoft 365 applications. Adobe Creative Suite and AP Style preferred. Experience in digital content creation, including publications, photography, and videography. Experience with video editing and podcast production preferred or a willingness to learn. Experience with website editing within a content management system, as well as social media content creation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a comprehensive, multi-audience marketing, communications, and public relations plan consistent with the mission and strategic imperatives of the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW). Manage and execute the plan through individualized contributions, delegation and task oversight of other communications team members, and management of external communications and marketing contracts as applicable. Continuously monitor and analyze performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Develop and oversee FCBHW branding and messaging, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and mission/brand-alignment across all materials and platforms, as well as all FCBHW strategic cores (i.e., research and dissemination, education and professional development, policy analysis and implementation). Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures and legislative orders.
Design, create visual and written content for, publish/disseminate, and oversee various publications, messaging, and other media for the Center, including legislative reports, impact reports, news articles and press releases, newsletters and email blasts, event brochures and invitations, videos and podcasts, etc. Write, edit, and/or revise content for the Center's website and social media accounts.
Plan and coordinate special events for the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW), such as stakeholder engagement meetings, workshops, training events, etc. Develops campaigns using Constant Contact, Salesforce, or similar software to promote specific projects, events, and initiatives.
Serve as a liaison between the Center, College, University, and key community stakeholders on matters involving marketing, communications, and public relations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with 4 years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above and 2 years of experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
The preferred candidate for this role will have project management experience, as well as a diversity of professional experiences across communications, marketing, and public relations roles and with various forms of media formats and technologies.
