Library and Digital History Intern (Education)
1. Update the Prices & Wages LibGuide with current FRASER links
2. From a list of broken links, correct links in FRASER and FedHistory
3. An index of all Fed Bank data products/surveys (Estimated time: 24 hours)
a. Determine which data series released by the Federal Reserve Banks are missing from FRED.
b. Compare Fed Bank websites to their Source page in FRED.
c. Intern could fill out forms to request the missing data be added to FRED. Intern would learn about the data sets.
4. Directory of Fed System economists (Estimated time: 40 hours)
a. Use an approved Web Scraper software to gather details on all Reserve Bank Economists from Bank websites. Intern would learn how to use the software.
b. Put the information into a spreadsheet.
c. Goal would be to determine how much work it would take to complete and keep it up-to-date.
5. Using scholarly articles as source material, and the FRASER collection priorities for scope, identify potential materials for ingest into FRASER
6. Other duties assigned may include: Cleaning and splitting data for large collections of digitized archival materials; converting archival storage inventory to updated, user-friendly format; generating updated Needs List for FRASER librarians; analyzing effectiveness and making recommendations for changes to or uses for FRASER API; and creating automated, streamlined procedure for tracking authors who cite FRASER materials and building lists of the materials they cite outside of FRASER.
