Program Director - Exceptional Care & Training Center (Project Management)
Job Summary:
The Program Director oversees and manages services to meet the needs of residents, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and quality standards. This role coordinates resident care, supervises staff, and implements programs to enhance well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate care programs in accordance with facility policies and compliance standards.
Supervise day training and residential services, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
Oversee case management, care planning, and interdisciplinary team coordination.
Lead or participate in committees such as Human Rights, Behavior Management, and Quality Assurance.
Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
Ensure proper documentation, compliance monitoring, and corrective actions.
Support resident admissions, discharges, and community referrals.
Educate staff, residents, and families on health conditions and care plans.
Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition.
Maintain professional development through ongoing education and training.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees of day training department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility policies, practices, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Indirect supervisor of nursing, activity and other assistants as their job functions relate to resident care and program delivery. Must consistently use discretion and independent judgment.
Education and/or Experience:
RN or Bachelor's Degree in professional health related field as defined by Illinois QIDP Registry.
At least two years of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Strong computer skills preferred.
Meets state and federal requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must meet and maintain status on QIDP Registry.
Meet requirements for DSP Training, QIDP Trainer and Certified Human Rights Committee Chairperson.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Driver's license per facility requirements preferred.
