KFI is a highly agile, matrixed organization with dozens of projects active at any one time, many of which are strategic and high priority. The KFI includes professionals from diverse disciplines including industrial/organizational, quantitative, and educational psychology; sociology; neuroscience; and data science. As such, this role may require collaboration across research, thought leadership, data, analytics, IP, and measurement areas, and projects may involve multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
Our new 10-week global internship program is part of Korn Ferry Launch, which is an early-career development program created to give interns and recent graduates a head start in their professional life. It's an invaluable learning experience that could be the fast track to a rewarding long-term career at Korn Ferry.
As an intern you'll be given plenty of opportunity to make an impact here. In fact, you'll be welcomed as a valued member of the team, and you'll be working on real projects, alongside senior Korn Ferry Institute team members. Your assignments might include things like market mapping, analyzing data or even attending research homeroom meetings - professional experiences that will look great on your resume.

The Korn Ferry Global Internship Program is open to students graduating in the Spring/Summer of 2026 from an accredited academic institution, as well as candidates earning post graduate degrees. This is a hybrid position and will require 3 days per week in the Minneapolis office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Korn Ferry Institute optimizes the success of people, teams, and organizations. We do this by empowering Korn Ferry to deliver the highest client value through research-based insights, innovative intellectual property (IP) development, and leading-edge data analytics.
Our IP team develops, updates, and innovates work design and measurement, assessment, and development solutions at the individual, team, and organization levels.
The role involves working with our IP team's leaders and professionals to contribute to the update of our core assessment content and leadership development frameworks.
Korn Ferry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Intellectual Property (IP) team. In this role, you will support ongoing research and updates to Korn Ferry's insights into the competencies and behaviors required for effective performance in professional and leadership roles. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced researchers, and gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge leadership and competency model development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with researchers and IP developers to collect and organize information about emerging and critical competencies.
- Contribute to the design, administration, and analysis of surveys using platforms such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey.
- Support qualitative research efforts, including conducting and summarizing interviews and focus groups.
- Organize and summarize data on custom competencies used by clients.
- Conduct research to update models of effective leadership development and behavior change.
- Search scholarly databases for relevant research and evaluate frameworks and taxonomies.
- Collaborate with Korn Ferry subject matter experts to gather ideas and insights.
- Document findings and compile an integrated summary of approaches that support effective leadership development.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and working towards an undergraduate or master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field from an accredited college/university. Must be graduating in the Spring/Summer 2026 to be eligible.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and analyze confidential data accurately.
- Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of competency models and their application in organizational settings is preferred.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to summarize and present findings.
- Experience working with research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Familiarity with leadership development research, taxonomies, and behavior change frameworks.
