Occupational Therapy Program Coordinator (Healthcare)
Reports to: VP of Operations -MN Type: Exempt Job Duties: 1. Provide Occupational Therapy Services: a. Maintain an average of 18-20 patient visits per week or 75% of total work time b. Work with children, teens, adults, and family systems from diverse backgrounds c. Complete thorough evaluation, standardized as well as checklist and observational, including but not limited to muscle tone, range of motion/mobility, perceptive/fine motor skills, handwriting, social skills, self-regulation, sensory motor processing and functional activities of daily living d. Develop individualized goals for each child (with input from family members) incorporating functional abilities with the objective to increase daily living skills e. Conduct 1:1 treatment sessions with clients who have a variety of psychosocial, cognitive, and/or motor difficulties f. Educate and demonstrate therapy techniques to parents that can be used in a home program and help families be successful in implementing a home therapeutic program g. Maintain communication with referring physician through progress reports and other forms of communication as needed h. Responsible for timely documentation of evaluation results, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and insurance authorizations and justifications as needed i. Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of adaptive equipment as needed. j. Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and continuing education courses as appropriate or required. 2. Professionalism: a. Maintain all HIPAA regulations and strict confidentiality b. Dress and present yourself in a professional manner c. Maintain professional competency by completing CEU in the area of Occupational Therapy d. Adhere to Nystrom & Associates safety and policy procedures 3. Oversee the development of the OT program: a. Work in close collaboration with VP of Operations, OT Lead, Clinic Site Directors & other key management staff b. Identify areas where Nystrom can continue to grow the existing occupational therapy department c. Identify referral sources for OT services, maintain referral relationships & a business strategy for the program d. Point of contact for OT related questions and collaboration across other Nystrom departments and programs e. Provide education regarding OT services across Nystrom & Associates as needed f. Responsible for updating OT marketing materials & digital content in tandem with the Marketing department g. Owner of the OT SharePoint page, content, updates and communication to all staff h. Maintains OT program material supply lists, inventory management & budget i. Interviewing, hiring & onboarding of new OTs in coordination with OT Lead & CSD j. Act as interim OT Lead for new OT sites & staff k. Travel to sites and in the community as required for program oversight, development, marketing and collaboration Qualifications: 1. Education and Experience: a. Master's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program a. Pediatric experience preferred (will consider new graduates with pediatric fieldwork experience) 2. Licensure: a. NBCOT certification as an OTR b. Current MN licensure (will consider a new graduate willing to apply for a temporary license) 3. Skills and Qualifications Required: a. Have a working knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy and assessment tools used in the evaluation of infants and children b. Compassionate and understanding c. Excellent written and oral communication skills d. Strong time management skills e. Possess basic computer skills including the ability to navigate multiple systems i. Previous EHR experience preferred. f. Physically be able to participate in handling and floor activities with children. i. Able to lift 10-25# frequently; 25-50# occasionally; and over 50# rarely and with help
