Director of Quality (Finance)
1. Administrator of the corporate quality system, integrating Operator Process Control (OPC), AAR M-1003, and Training Within Industry (TWI). Act as the corporate administrator of the associated PTC Windchill quality document repository.
2. Maintain manufacturing compliance with current industry standards (AAR, ASTM, SAE, etc.).
3. Develop and conduct product, process, and supplier audits. Convert audit findings into system improvement recommendations and solutions via process corrective action (PCA) management.
4. Evaluate effectiveness of approved and implemented solutions. Conduct and document tests to assess manufacturing system effectiveness and compliance to specifications.
5. Coordinate activities and communication with auditing agencies, customers, and related. Provide on-site support of manufacturing sites during external audits.
6. Support international joint ventures on AAR quality assurance and import product quality.
7. Support account managers, service engineers, and customers on product quality.
8. Develop communication systems to ensure the sharing of best practices of internal (between plants and departments) and external (customers, suppliers, competition, and similar industries) sources.
9. Implement new and/or improved manufacturing test methods and test systems as directed.
10. Maintain records, reports and files of position activities.
11. Conducts and performs special projects at management request.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Possess a 4 Year degree in engineering, business or equivalent in education and/or experience.
• Possess previous manufacturing experience (3-5 years) with one or more years in process improvement/re-engineering.
• Experience with automotive-style QMS, SPC preferred
• Display a proficiency in personal computer applications (MS Office products)
• Travel will be required.

Major Interactions include:
• Plant General Managers, Department Heads, and Quality Managers
• Corporate Vice President - Technical Services, Vice President - Wheel Operations, Manager- Quality Engineering, Vice President - Purchasing, Manager - Purchasing
• Independent/3rd party quality auditors, AAR technical inspectors, and railroad technical personnel.
