Draftsperson (Finance)

POSITION SUMMARY:

To prepare and maintain an accurate CAD drafting document thru communication with company personnel (engineers, estimators, etc.) and outside sources (sales, representatives, the customer, etc.), proper designing, and creation of CAD piping layouts as expected by Perma-Pipe.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ability to communicate with engineers and customers about a project in a manner where all parties understand the issues/tasks at hand (conference calls, email communication, etc.)
• Able to read prints and sketches furnished by the customer/engineer and translate required information into an accurate CAD document. (read engr. & mech. prints, prepare .DWG files & .PDF files, etc.)
• Maintain a drafting environment and document management that complies with standards set up by the company (file integrity, operating CAD graphic interface, etc.)
• Ability to function with current Autodesk AutoCAD and COADE CADWorx programs and grasp new methods of 3D drafting that may enhance the CAD document (isometric layouts, detailed 3D views, etc.)
• Performs other duties/ projects as assigned or as the job requires.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS / REPORTING: Works with Engineering. Reports to the Manager of Project Engineering.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION: At minimum, college level CAD instruction in AutoCAD products with a solid understanding of both 2D and 3D capabilities found in AutoCAD and other piping layout software such as CADWorx

EXPERIENCE: Demonstrate skills from previous experience in CAD environments where engineering documents were prepared for both manufacturing purposes and overall customer based prints.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong customer orientation, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer proficiency, and work well in a team environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

TRAVEL: Open to travel to other company locations as well as site visits

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as telephone, photo copier, and other office equipment as the job requires.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, bending, and reaching. Requires manual agility sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax, calculator, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a typical office production setting. This position may require working overtime on an as needed basis.
