Teacher Supervisor (Education)
JOB SUMMARY
Provide support to the instructional component of Adult Education and Literacy Program.
Oversee the instructional activities that support and facilitate the smooth running of the adult education department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct visitation, evaluation, or observations of designated instructional staff, students and program records as required by HCCS and state agency's regulations.
Review instructional materials and methodology to assure that the adult education curriculum is being taught appropriately.
Participate in the interview, recommendations, and assignments of prospective staff to classes and centers.
Advise the Leadership Team of vacancies and/or schedule changes.
Assign substitute teachers as needed and provide technical assistance to instructors and teacher aides.
Assist in locating/assessing instructional facilities and planning class schedules.
Coordinate curriculum development initiatives, and takes the lead in selected areas of instruction.
Supervise part-time aides, instructors, and lead instructors.
Distribute program materials and assists with departmental bookroom activities, including inventory and ordering.
Monitor and provides leadership to TANF/CHOICES CBO service providers and serve as liaison for organizations doing Welfare-to-Work activities.
Coordinate with the Directors of Evaluation and Support Services in matters concerning program records, staff pre-service and in-service and the Adult Education Newsletter.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
