Sr Security Systems Specialist (Transportation)

Implements, installs and manages new advanced technical and physical security system technologies and security networks to
meet business requirements. Provides technical expertise and support for long-term, complex situational awareness, access
control, surveillance and other technical security systems and subsystems. Remains abreast of new surveillance and security
technology, technical documentation, and implementations, and provides recommendations to management for strategic
planning. Will lead a group of technicians and/or vendor representatives assigned for the duration of a project. Provides
guidance and training for technical security systems staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Directs the day-to-day monitoring of technical security systems and networks for optimum performance and performs daily
system administration. Troubleshoots and resolves end-user problems. Monitors electronic security asset performance
using available tools and ensures procedures are in place for audit compliance as systems are installed or modified. Could
be needed to supervise other internal staff or external vendors performing these duties.
• Manages the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic security assets and systems. Assists in the
development of detailed work plans for both installation and continuing maintenance. Provides technical oversight for
testing and monitors new installations. Provides technical support, training, and troubleshooting assistance to technical
security systems staff and other Bank staff as needed.
• Provides security and surveillance services and system design for complex and long-term security and surveillance projects,
including the testing of security and surveillance system changes and new technologies in the district. Recommends new
electronic security products to senior management that improve the efficiency and security of surveillance infrastructure to
support the business needs of the district.
• Coordinates with other key stakeholders to design, implement and maintain enterprise-level network security systems.
Ensures the network is properly managed and appropriately secured in accordance with existing Federal Reserve technical
standards. Coordinates maintenance and regular patching of servers and workstations. Coordinates maintenance
agreements and other related services to ensure network, application and data reliability and availability.
• Creates end-user technical reference materials. Plans and delivers training on the appropriate use of technical security
applications and systems. Responds to inquiries, seeks resolution, and routinely updates reference documentation.
• Duties necessitate a flexible work schedule that will include occasional evening, holiday, and weekend assignments. Position
involves working variable and extended shifts, after-hour support and the ability to work on short notice on an as needed
basis. Incumbent must maintain off-duty availability cell phone to provide guidance as well as to react to emergent situations
and critical incidents.
Education: Associate degree or 2 years equivalent experience
Experience: Two years preferred
