Driver - CDL A (Transportation)
Position Summary
Operates vehicles with a semi-trailer or trailer with two or more axles. Delivering and picking up lumber products from and to project areas. Driving to urban/rural residential and commercial locations within intrastate and interstate.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate vehicles with a semi-trailer or pull trailer with two or more axles with a mounted forkliftDemonstrate decision driving skills by safely delivering various bulky and/or heavy lumber products in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and damage-freeAdhering to assigned deliveries/credits and check on load related documentation for completeness and accuracyObtain receipts or signatures for delivered goodsMaintain driver forms and log (ELD) according to DOT regulationsMaintains high activity/productivity levels while operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and determinationAddress and resolve customer issues as appropriate and informs dispatch of any outstanding issues related to the customer deliveriesCheck vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working orderReport vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehiclePerform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 1-year driving and delivery experienceForklift experienceElectronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience a plus
Other Requirements
Must have current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted Class A (CDL) licenseMust pass pre-employment drug screen and physicalWork morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtimeMaintenance of regular attendance

Verbal & Written Communication skills and map/GPS reading abilitiesManeuver large vehicles on highways, inter-city and traffic routesAbility to comply to daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitudeExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goalsWilling to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is perform within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dustPerform activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materialsMust be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, standing/walking for prolonged periodsReaching at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
