Mixer Operator PF SS DAYS (Finance)
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Mixes proper ingredients at correct temperature while supplying and loading any materials needed for the proper mixture of pet food.
Ensures proper machine operation by making adjustments as needed to accurately control and record written data tied to individual batches to report to quality assurance.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Mixer Operator and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.
Physical Activities: Must be able to work in a dry, dusty and noisy environment and temperature extremes (below 40 to over 100 degrees), work on feet for entire shift, lift up to 55 pounds of materials or ingredients from floor to shoulder height repetitively, climb up and down ladders/stairs to heights of 150 feet, and work inside or outside.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use head covering, ear plugs, safety glasses, non skid steel toed boots, and any other protective equipment as needed or required.
Travel: N/A
Technical Experience: Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license. Must have basic computer skills.
Industry Experience: Preferred pet food production and heavy machinery experience.
Minimum Education : Must be able to read, write and speak English, and perform basic math.
Preferred Education : High School Diploma/Equivalent.
Competencies: Communication skills & decision quality - Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
