Grounds Crew (Maintenance)
Title: Grounds Crew
Wage: $20.60
Classification: Full Time
Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Position Summary:
Perform day to day facilities duties associated with the preventative maintenance on equipment and maintains external appearance of Lands' End campus. Performs the upkeep and maintenance repair of the entire complex. Parking lots, drives, buildings entrances, sidewalks and emergency entrances.
• Performs exterior landscaping duties as assigned including snow removal, mowing, weeding, trimming, pruning, transplanting, mulching, planting, edging, top dressing, leaf clean up and seeding.
• Perform general site maintenance to include plowing, salting, sanding, and install signs. Do snow shoveling of all sidewalks, entryways, emergency exits, fire hydrants and PIV water valves. In winter, be on call and available to work extended hours, seven days a week. Perform site clean-up of debris, litter, leaves and clean out drains.
• Apply landscape chemicals limited to herbicides, with proper handling, equipment operation, and equipment cleaning.
• Ability to operate and maintain self-propelled mowers (3hp to 27 hp range), rider lawn mowers, power trimming equipment and snow blowers.
• Current driver's license required with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to occasionally lift a variety of tools and equipment up to 50 lb.
• Ability to climb ladders
• Occasional kneel for long period of times
• Frequent walking and standing for up to 2 to 4 hours at a time
• Frequent bending and twisting with weights up to 20 to 30lbs.
• Continuous fine finger manipulation, bilateral hand dexterity
• Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions: heat, cold, sunny, humidity and light rain
