Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Oversee all onsite quality control processes and provide commissioning support. Maintain and update the commissioning log. Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs to ensure compliance with project requirements. Evaluate and approve technical documents, including shop drawings, material test reports, and inspection reports, for accuracy and adherence to quality standards. Manage manufacturer pre-startup, startup, and commissioning checklists, as well as GC-required checklists using electronic documentation systems. Track and verify all delivered equipment, ensuring it matches approved documentation, and report any discrepancies. Coordinate all testing and inspections, including pre-test walk-downs, while working with the GC and GCs quality/commissioning manager. Prepare and submit owner training manuals and Installation, Operation & Maintenance documents, ensuring compliance with specification requirements. Conduct electrical and controls systems testing, submit testing and calibration reports, and complete the turnover package. Perform routine site audits and inspections to ensure quality installations, code compliance, and adherence to safety standards. Attend safety training and comply with all company and site safety policies and procedures. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
What were looking for:
Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work. Hands-on experience as a Quality Control Engineer, including quality inspections, audits, testing, and creating turnover packages. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with GCs, project managers, foremen, and company leadership. Familiarity with construction commissioning software. Experience with construction project management tools (Procore preferred but not required). Proficiency in MS Office and general computer skills. Flexibility to travel and work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. A valid drivers license. Solid technical knowledge of electrical installations.
