Sr. Accountant - Corporate Controller's Group (Finance)

The Sr. Accountant will join the Corporate Accounting team within the Corporate Controller's Group. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the Corporation's monthly general ledger close and consolidation process, and the delivery of financial reports produced within Corporate Accounting in support of its SEC Reporting and Regulatory Reporting.
The position provides a varied and hands-on exposure to many areas of the Corporation, both domestic and international. The successful individual will be required to have strong interaction and working relationships with the business, operations, technology and finance teams as it is essential that the individual engages with these teams to adequately govern the monthly close and communicate initiatives driven by Corporate Accounting. The position will report directly to the Vice President, Manager of Corporate Accounting - Corporate Financial Management in Chicago.
Major Duties:
Knowledge:
Thorough business and technical accounting knowledge, acquired through 4-6 years of corporate or industry experience.
Experience in regulatory and statutory financial reporting with a large organization.
Ability to meet strict deadlines by multi-tasking and prioritizing various assigned deliverables.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in leading or champion new corporate initiatives.
Requires attention to detail and solid documentation techniques.
Experience with PeopleSoft GL, Hyperion Finance Management (Trintech Certification a plus).
Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting is required. MBA or other advanced degree a plus. CPA certification strongly preferred.
