ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Places and spreads product on conveyor belt , ensuring product is straight and that pieces do not fold, overlap or touch one another before letting it go on through machine. Ensures the red laser beam strikes right down the keel (center) of the breast butterfly and right along side of the breast split. Prevents air pockets from affecting weights by pressing down on each breast as it goes by.
Maintains line speeds and ensures product meets specifications. Inspects the meat for bones or fat and returns any rejects back to the debone trimline. Identifies improper cuts on cut up product. Notifies supervisor of bad cuts and removes bad cuts from the line.
Will rotate to other positions on the line as required.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level and bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift. This position involves repetitive motion and may include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant. Must be able to work on feet for entire shift.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use water resistant footwear, hearing protection, hair net(s), liners, smock, gloves and any other protective equipment as needed or required.
