Plant Engineer (Manufacturing)
Plan, design, and oversee plant CAPEX engineering projects. (e.g. new molds, plant improvements)
Oversee and support plant certification efforts (e.g. TxDOT, PCI).
Participate in industry committees.
Drive and/or support technology updates both in engineering as well as within the plant.
Assist with mix design development and improvement.
Drive batch plant improvements both mechanically and technologically.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and identify potential challenges or constraints.
Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, and technical specifications in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Coordinate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project requirements are met.
Manage projects, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are completed within the allocated time constraints.
Conduct repair assessments and monitor plant activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, drawings, and contracts.
Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in civil engineering.
Key Results
Serve on multiple industry committees to maintain or raise Locke's presence in the industry.
Achieve and maintain plant certification statuses.
Deliver 1-4 CAPEX projects per year.
Produce production reinforcement designs and calculations (20%).
Improve plant production infrastructure technology year over year.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related experience.
3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in brown field, site development, and infrastructure projects.
EIT is strongly preferred.
Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Experience in project management, including scheduling, and resource allocation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
