Associate Revenue Accountant (Finance)

Job Summary

The Associate Revenue Accountant role is to ensure non-operated payments are recorded properly and timely in both income and expense accounts. Additionally, the position will oversee the process for post-production invoices billed to the Company. Further, successful candidate will manage accounts receivable clearing related to U.S. sales and other midstream activities. The position will also work with other departments to promptly void and reissue payments, as well as generate accurate 1099 tax forms.

This role will be in our Houston Corporate office and may work remotely two (2) days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Record and track the status of non-operated onshore revenue payments
  • Manage the retrieval, storage, coding, and vendor inquiries of platform and midstream invoices
  • Clear payments against relevant receivables and assist on receipts documentation for audits
  • Perform unapplied cash reconciliation and devise plans to resolve unreconciled items
  • Compute various gas plants' shrink and yield factors utilizing monthly statements
  • Assist senior accountants on a wide range of month-end cycle journal entries
  • Execute and monitor royalty payment voids driven by owner and bank issues
  • Perform annual 1099-MISC testing and report processing for royalties paid
  • Prepare monthly statements to distribute to royalty owners, partners, and pipeline contacts

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 2 years in E&P or midstream accounting experience
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to timely follow-up
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, strong work ethic and personal accountability
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and provide suggestions for process improvement to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Accounts receivable or payable experience
  • SAP system knowledge
  • Strong note taking aptitude
  • Affinity with technologies, such as Copilot, Power Automate, Power BI, to help with deliverables

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., indoor) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
