Teacher - ELD Middle School Teacher (Education)
Responsibilities:
Design and instruct students using effective research based instructional practices that address the cultural context of English learners and in alignment with the standards for English Language Development (ELD).Provide instruction for Integrated and Designated ELD times based on site needs.Differentiate lesson plans to engage and challenge students.Assist in the implementation of the ELD program and provide support to teachers as they implement a balanced program designed to meet the needs of all English Learners.Track Response to Intervention (RTI) data to monitor student progress.Support and coordinate ELAC meetings and reclassification process.Work in a collaborative manner with colleagues to support the appropriate use of specially designed academic learning in English (SDAIE) strategies in general education classes.Provide Literacy Intervention support to students.Maintain the unwavering belief in the extraordinary potential of every student.Maintain a growth mindset with all stakeholders.Build authentic relationships with students by serving as a mentor; consistently reinforce the belief that all students have the capacity to be successful through college.Build authentic relationships with families through school events, phone calls and conferences.Commit to equitable teaching and learning opportunities for all students with dedication to the success of students, their families, and the community.Facilitate students mastery of academic standards through long-term planning, daily and weekly lesson plans, and execution of rigorous and engaging daily instruction.Collaborate with ACE Learning Specialists to support a full-inclusion model of Special Education to the greatest extent possible.Create a warm yet firm classroom culture through consistent implementation of behavior ladders.Celebrate student growth, as well as proficiency.Consistently integrate coaching feedback.Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.Approach professional development (training, observations, coaching and feedback) with commitment and reflection.
