POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for assisting the Youth Development Site Leader and fostering a sense of belonging in youth, providing opportunities for youth to feel achievement, and helping youth build healthy positive relationships.
JOB LOCATION:Windsor Elementary - off site from Grubb YMCA
SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Monday-Friday 2:00p-5:45p
PAY RANGE:$14.75-$18.00/hour - based on qualification
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: December 23, 2024 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support the direction provided by the Leader of the program. Fills the role of Leader when the Leader is not there. Assist in creating an atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging among youth, helps them gain confidence through achievement and builds relationships with and among youth. Assist in creating and maintaining a safe environment both physically and emotionally for all youth Help to establish a relaxed, feel to activities, with more emphasis on the how and the why of the activities than on the activities themselves. Help to lead, supervise, evaluate and provide feedback for the staff team. Help to engage leaders and youth in the planning of activities. Assist with planning and orchestrating programs daily flow. Help to make sure schedules, supplies, materials, etc. are ready for each day. Maintain the Y-Voice in all that you say, do, and think in regards to the program ~ Welcoming, Nurturing, Hopeful, Determined, Genuine. Establish positive relationships with youth and parents. Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them to others. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.Demonstrates and supports the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
