Sr. Project Civil Engineer (Finance)
H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering environmental consulting firm in
Melville, NY seeks a Sr. Project Engineer with 7+ years of experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design and coordination of work on multidiscipline projects ranging from due diligence/site feasibility studies, writing reports, gathering information, and site engineering, through regulatory approvals and full permitting for full range of site development projects.
• Develop site layout and design, including site grading and storm drainage, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure, erosion and sediment control.
• Prepare hydrology and hydraulic calculations and be knowledgeable of NYSDEC storm water drainage and SWPPP requirements.
• Project management responsibilities including preparing proposals, tracking project financial performance, coordinating communications with clients and project team members
• Prepare engineer's opinion of probable costs for designed projects and specifications for public bids.
• Coordinate with other engineering and architectural departments within the firm.
• Relationship building and communication directly with clients in support and coordination of all project activities.
• Working both independently and as a team with other professionals and technicians dependent on project/task, including providing supervision of staff level engineers assigned to projects.
• Responsible for the on-time, on budget, high quality technical delivery of all project requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, Autoturn, Excel, and Photoshop.
- 10+ years design experience with a specific focus on the site development projects and a thorough understanding of the entitlement processes in Long Island.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within project teams.
- Team-spirited, focused and able to make independent decisions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- EIT/PE desired.
