Managing the process of loaning tools to employees and ensuring their return.
Inspecting and cleaning tools, performing minor repairs, and ensuring they are in good working order.
Identifying and ordering new tools or supplies as needed, maintaining sufficient stock levels.
Maintaining a well-organized and efficient tool room, ensuring tools are properly stored and labeled.
Ensuring the safe storage and handling of tools, following safety procedures and security protocols.
Providing guidance and training to employees on the proper use and care of tools.
Monitoring tool usage, tracking tool movement, and performing periodic stock checks.
Communicating with other departments or personnel about
Maintenance Supervisor
Must be experienced in using traditional inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators), surface plate
inspection methods (using gage blocks and indicators)
• Must be experienced using problem solving and analytical tools, reproducibility studies and statistical process control
• Must have proficient and accurate computer skills, data entry skills and tool management database software skills
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills with positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Must be very detail oriented
• Must have effective time management and organization skills to meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
High School diploma or equivalent required,
5+ years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment, preferred
