Supply Chain & Production Control Manager (Project Management)
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs research and evaluation of domestic and foreign suppliers for materials, processes, parts and services.
Seeks to maximize company profit through the establishment of Long Term Supply Agreements.
Conducts Make/Buy Analyses.
Prepares Statements of Work and Analyzes Competitive Bids.
Identifies opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or service.
Establishes standard Ts & Cs and ensures Supplier Adherence.
Interprets and negotiates purchasing contracts; reviews for accuracy and changes prior to bid & renewal.
Communicates and coordinates with suppliers and internal customers regarding complex deviations/changes of schedules and requirements.
Oversees purchasing efforts to ensure consistent practices and standards.
Creates and provides existing vendors with our delivery standards. Evaluates adherence to our standards and ranks vendors accordingly.
Manages the flow and/or purchase of materials, equipment, goods, supplies, etc., from suppliers.
Maintains a strong understanding of oversea and international shipping requirements to facilitate the export of our products.
Supports the General Manager in the development of business strategy.
Provides support for on-going continuous improvement projects as well as future strategic Supply Chain project initiatives.
Maintains inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
Creates Resource and Capacity Plans
Review operations with technical and engineering staff to resolve production bottlenecks or processing problems.
Coordinates inventory and cost reduction efforts.
Schedules the flow of work to balance resources and demand and to facilitate lean production.
Establishes priorities for specific customer orders and revises schedule according to work order specifications.
Established priorities and availability of workers, parts, material, machines and equipment.
Distributes work orders to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
Establishes and manages metrics associated with Supply Chain and Production Control. This includes the creation and maintenance of production Dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications
APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and as a Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent.
Advanced ERP knowledge and extensive ERP implementation experience.
5 years or more relevant experience in the manufacturing industry as a Scheduler, Planner, Production Control Manager and/or Supply Chain professional.
Demonstrated leadership experience with the proven ability to develop and mentor others.
Experience with creating and leading the SIOP process.
Extensive experience in applying materials management, resource planning, capacity planning, theory of constraints and resource planning in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of basic sheet metal manufacturing processes.
An Associate's Degree or equivalent relevant training.
