Senior Program Director of Adventure Lab (Project Management)
Job Summary:
The Senior Camp Program Director of Adventure is responsible to create, plan, and oversee systems and practices of adventure programs, including but not limited to Adventure Lab race series, and Unlock It! Lead efficient, high-quality delivery of adventure programs and events by collaborating on new concept events for participants, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.
Essential Functions:
Adventure Races
Secure vendor agreements, including rentals, procurement of event goods, and other essential event needs.
Collaborate with adventure team and event partners to manage schematics, including site logistics, participant and volunteer experience, course maps, and overall flow of adventure races.
Create product templates for registration, and lead marketing and recruitment efforts to grow event series. Promote events internally at team and board meetings, and externally at sponsor locations, civic groups, schools, etc.
Manage and grow existing event sponsor relationships. Cultivate new support in areas of financial and in-kind sponsorship.
Evaluate and improve current events. Collaborate with internal and external partners to create new concept adventure races that attract new participants.
Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate management techniques.
Collaborate with adventure team to determine volunteer need and functions for each event to ensure high-quality volunteer experience.
Monitor inventory of event supplies, hard-scape apparatus, and recommend when items need to be repaired or replaced.
Ensure warehouse is organized and coordinate with team members and volunteers to load/unload according to event needs.
Manage design of swag and all purchasing for events, with attention to budget, timing, and delivery specs.
Program Unlock It!
Project management, cataloging aspects of program design, vendor relationships, community engagement calendar and logistics, timelines, and delivery.
Lead compliance efforts with LCCMR grant requirements.
Recognition of key stakeholders
Order and manage gratitude program for volunteers and sponsors.
Create and organize recognition program for volunteers, including annual recognition event to include volunteers and sponsors; share best practices with wider team to create culture of recognition.
Budget
Track, report and communicate progress toward revenue goals for Adventure Lab programs, and provide general oversight to program, product, and event/program expenses.
Relationships:
This position reports to the Vice President of Adventure, who reports to Senior Vice President of Adventure and Camp Operations. The incumbent regularly interacts with team members, participants, volunteers, and supporters in the community.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of three (3) years of management experience, including supervision and budget responsibilities.
Proven management abilities in community relations; budget development and financial control; staff management and development; volunteer development.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated maturity, good judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to think conceptually with good analytical skills and demonstrated assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities.
Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Work Conditions:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel locally for meeting, training and events.
Ability to lead event operations when standing and walking for several hours per day over several consecutive days in an outdoor setting, prepared for exposure to a variety of weather conditions, and be able to complete responsibilities in those conditions.
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
