The Expediting Specialist in the Supply Chain Management Department will be responsible for expediting: (i) and confirming the supplier received and acknowledged the purchase order; (ii) the progress of long lead items; (iii) the delivery of goods by the Deliver By date on the purchase order; (iv) for any documentation required per the purchase order; (vi) proof of delivery; (vii) for a proper invoice for the purchase and ensuring it is processed; and (viii) any other related duties. The Expediting Specialist will be responsible for communicating issues with the purchase order progress to the applicable Procurement, Operations, or Engineering stakeholders. The Expediting Specialist will form an integral part of his/her expediting team and will have opportunity for promotion based on performance and experience gained. He/she can expect to work in a demanding, performance-orientated environment where efficiency, reliability, and teamwork are key drivers to success. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading the expediting of deliverables for EPC projects upon receipt of an approved purchase order through the closeout of the project.
Managing communication between the project team and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
Quality review the receipt, inspection, approval and return of all deliverables required by the contract (purchase order).
Managing contract package requirements with the supplier's production schedule to ensure project milestones are being met.
Leading the project team to provide accurate and timely reports of project status.
Identify and elevate potential fabrication issues or shipment delays and direct a resolution or recovery plan.
Consulting with the supplier and jobsite to coordinate deliveries and identify, report, and resolve discrepancies.
Quality review the final documentation to satisfy payment milestones and contract completion.
Working across all time zones.
Working with the warehouse team and coordinating return of tear down reports and return of repairable items.
Providing leadership, training, and instruction to other expeditors.
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, or Sourcing/Supply Chain Management is preferred. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
3 - 5 years of proven experience in expediting, procurement processes, vendor management, supply chain management, and/or logistics, preferably in the energy industry or related industries (such as process, chemicals, etc.) is preferred.
Experience working with Oracle Financial or any other purchase order management software is preferred.
Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail and negotiating skills to resolve problems.
Ability to intuitively follow the logical flow of production and fabrication schedules and understanding of the obligations involved with contracts and procurement.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive with solutions, persistent.
Must be team oriented with strong management skills and the ability to organize tasks and be self-motivated with little or no supervision.
Proficiency in the use of computer technology with emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of products and Oracle reporting.
Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
