ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The mission of the Department of Student Life & Engagement (SLE) is to enhance the academic programs of study by providing opportunities for students, faculty and staff to interact in a variety of experiences and environments. SLE strives to promote student growth and development through involvement in diverse co-curricular cultural, social, and educational activities as well as governance programs.
Student Life and Engagement is the department where the following areas are housed

5. Office of Multicultural Affairs
6. Crows Nest (student run newspaper)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Student Life and Engagement the Student Programs Coordinator for Commuters and Off Campus Housing serves as the primary contact for commuter engagement for non-residential students at USF St Petersburg.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and Manage the Petey's Commuter Lounge
Serve as the primary contact for the Locker Rental program for off-campus/commuter students.
Manage commuter resources website
Collaborate with USF Dining to create/promote commuter meal plans/options
Establish and maintain a commuter assistant program
Manage and serve on the parking garage beautification project or any parking services projects with student success assistance needed
Establish and advise a Commuter student association student organization
Work collaboratively with St. Petersburg campus and community partners to identify, create and implement activities, programs, events and educational opportunities to educate and bring awareness to diverse populations focusing on commuter students. Work with the City of St. Petersburg Transportation authorities to establish/advertise program for student ride programs.
Develop programs, events, and activities to encourage commuter student engagement and involvement in campus life.
Collaborate with campus partners to ensure programs are inclusive of all commuter students
Co-host forum of commuter students to gather information of their needs
Host Commuter appreciation day
Off campus housing fairs
Host Good Morning Bulls (Morning Mingle)
Establish off campus housing partnerships which would be displayed on the website.
Identify and utilize assessment tools to administer assessments and generate data. Provide data for Commuter assessment and university-wide reports.
Serve as the primary point of contact for commuter student-related inquiries and concerns.
Participate in committees related to commuter student initiatives and off campus housing support.
Design, implement, and assess programming specifically tailored for commuter students.
Develop resources and tools to support commuter student success and engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Management. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel OR 2 years of experience working in higher education.
