Overview
The Director, Process Architecture and Governance supports the development of Cook Medical's operational infrastructure through alignment and standardization of global processes, integration of process with enterprise IT systems, and establishment of policies and internal standards. Works with individual process owners across the various operational units of the organization (e.g., Corporate, Divisions, Entities, Functions) to ensure that our key global processes interweave as needed to create efficiency and consistency. Serves as a connection between processes and IT systems, working with both IT leadership and process owners/users to ensure that our enterprise systems are aligned with and supportive of our process needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Cook Medical's Process Architecture Framework and Standards to align with company strategy.
- Ensure that all processes needed to facilitate effective operation of Cook Medical are established and mapped in the process architecture, with assigned ownership. Identify gaps and facilitate work needed to fill them.
- Ensure that connections, inputs, and outputs among processes are considered and accounted for in process development and documentation
- Facilitate alignment of processes and tools (IT systems) needed, interconnectivity of systems, appropriate data flow, and users across various process area.
- Bring together individual process owners (of related processes) on a routine basis to ensure collaboration and flow of inputs/outputs among processes.
- Consult and advise process owners, facilitate conversations and collaboration toward objectives and improved results. Support the development of process-related metrics.
- Partner with Global Process Owners on strategies for documenting, communicating, training, and supporting implementation of new policies
- Support Global Process Owners (GPOs) through the change control process in collaboration with CMMS change analyst.
- Serve as caretaker and facilitator for assigned process governance councils.
- Ensure healthy communication flow up, down, and across the governance framework.
- Recruit employees within own area, manage personnel matters, performance and resource needs.
- Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports to inspire high performance and professional growth.
- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others to achieve company goals
- Must have effective oral and written communications throughout various levels of the global organization
- Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
- Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations and adapt to changing priorities or project scope

Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, engineering or related field
- Experience in an enterprise architecture role is preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in leadership
- Experience managing and executing complex projects/programs in a product development environment / PMP certification is preferred
- Experience working in a Global environment across many cultures and regions
- Experience in medical device or life science industries is required including experience in FDA or other regulated environments preferred
Physical Requirements
- Works under general office environment conditions
- Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
- Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
- International and domestic travel as required
