Manager, Supplier Relationship (SAN) (Finance)
Oversees relationships between raw materials suppliers and the facilities, ensuring contractual obligations are met between both parties. Responsible for all SENSORA production and sales.
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Exempt position.
Responsible for overseeing the supplier relationship function. Develops procedures and works with other departments including order entry and shipping to ensure that client orders are processed efficiently, correctly and on time. Deals with issues escalated from representatives. Establishes continual process improvements for freight and transportation costs.
Leads the production of all SENSORA products to include the management of the production team, along with all sales of the product(s).
Plans and coordinates supplier order processing , directs inside sales, and maintains effective customer relations. Manages order-processing activities to ensure that customer products and orders will be filled accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitors supplier satisfaction with provided services . Supports, evaluates, and implements new programs, promotions, products, and services that support customer needs. Analyzes workflow. Manages support staff and quality of service provided. Establishes customer service objectives and methods. Works with new suppliers to create processes and procedures to meet our raw supplier expectations. Makes recommendations to supplier management to resolve inefficiencies. Builds relationships with supplier management and frontline employees to ensure open lines of communication to foster productive working relationships.
Implements procedures and provides guidance to ensure that supplier inquiries and complaints are handled and processed in accordance with the organization's objectives. Point of resolution between Simmons and suppliers for any related issues between both parties. Ensures suppliers are meeting minimum raw material tonnage, ensures suppliers are fully utilizing Simmons equipment. Responds to any public relations issues such as spills, accidents and any other related events.
Identifies appropriate needs-based product solution fit , and recommends appropriate programs and capital sources to help grow customer's businesses. Provides advice to customers with a focus on client experience and risk management. Develops relationship strategies through market and customer needs analysis, including problem solving solutions. Studies the industry and specific markets related to each customer account. Studies economic reports and regular updates on the market conditions associated with customer businesses to help make strategic capital decisions. Identifies cross-sells opportunities for each customer to generate maximum revenue growth. Develops and implements operating systems and procedures for the department. Monitors supplier tonnage to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and makes recommendations to management to deal with any issues.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Travels to suppliers; may require extended overnight travel.
Technical Experience: 7 years of poultry production/rendering experience. 3 years experience dealing with FMSCA and DOT rules and regulations. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to effectively deal with internal and external customers in a positive manner. Ability to develop working relationships with plant management and customers. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Industry Experience: Rendering experience preferred.
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in related field, or 4 years related work experience.
